Below are our terms of business. All purchases made at our store are subject to these terms & conditions which may well vary from time to time.
All payments are currently processed via PayPal who offer a very high level of security against fraud and also enhanced buyer protection. We do not collect or have any access to your payment information.
placing an order
On completion of your order you will receive an email confirming your payment from PayPal and an email from us confirming receipt of your order. Your order will then usually be dispatched within 1-2 working days. In the instance that an item you have ordered is no longer available we will email you, usually within 1-2 working days to suggest an alternative. Sometimes our confirmation emails end up in a spam folder. If you have concerns that you have not received confirmation from us please do email us directly.
We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days but on occasion it may take longer. The delivery times as detailed on our p&p page are estimates and not guaranteed. Occasionally overseas delivery can, especially in holiday periods, take considerably longer than estimated. This is especially true for postage outside of the EU where packages may be subject to customs clearance delays. Please do contact us if you are worried that your parcel is yet to arrive.
We aim to offer the most cost & time effective method of delivering orders overseas which currently is via Royal Mail Airmail. Unfortunately this service does not offer a tracking service for deliveries so no tracking number can be provided. As previously noted overseas delivery can take considerably longer than estimated due to customs retention for which The Haberdashery is in no way liable. All customs charges are the responsibility of the purchaser. An overseas delivery will only be considered potentially lost and therefore refundable if it is not received within 30 working days of dispatch. In this eventuality you should contact us directly and we will then within 5 working days either locate, refund or re-send your order.
returns & exchanges
If you are not happy with an item then we will refund or exchange it provided you contact us within 14 calendar days from the date of delivery of your order. Please email us before returning any item. It should be returned in its original, unused and if packaged, unopened, condition. If it is not then we are not able to issue a refund. We recommend you use a registered postal service when returning items to ensure they reach us safely. We are unable to pay for return postage or reimburse the original shipping charge on unwanted items. If an item is damaged or defective then we will pay return postage costs and reimburse the original shipping charge. Refunds are usually processed within 24 hours but we guarantee it within 7 working days of receipt of the returned item. Our returns address is The Haberdashery, 8 Stukeley Close, Cambridge, CB3 9LT.
We try very hard to ensure that our fabric is measured and cut to a high degree of accuracy but we do reserve the right for a 3.5cm margin of error on all cuts. If fabric is received which is 4cm or greater less than ordered we will arrange for the fabric to be returned to us and we will re-cut & re-send the fabric.
All images on the site can be used, copied and disseminated provided that they are attributed to The Haberdashery. If you are using the images online a link to The Haberdashery should be attached to or positioned close to the image. Our website and logo are subject to international copyright laws and should not be copied, reproduced or used for commercial purposes.
On checkout we will ask you for your name, shipping and email addresses. Providing us with a telephone number is optional. We use this information to ship your order and to send you a confirmation email. Your personal information will not be used for any other purpose and shall never be shared with any third party. Please note that we also will not add you to our mailing list unless you specifically request this. We do not collect or have any access to your payment details.
